How High to Hit Each Shot
One of the fun things about racquetball is how many different ways you can hit the ball and keep it in play. It's fun watching beginners get on the court and just swing like crazy hitting the ball every which way.
At higher levels of play however, there is a little more "structure" to each shot. For offensive shots there are 3 main heights at which players hit their shots.
It is important to remember that these are shot heights, not shot types. A shot type is more specific. For example, you can hit a cross-court passing shot. That is a shot type because it is defined by where it was hit, and how high it was hit. Another example is a straight-in kill shot. Again we know where it was hit (straight-in) and how high (kill shot, which is 6 inches and lower).
The pass, pass-kill and kill shot are explained in much more detail further into this Racquetball Shots tutorial.
